Depicting outside its Hardened Aircraft Shelter (HAS) a McDonnell Douglas Phantom of No 2 Sqn can be seen as its crew prepare for another Photo Recce sortie from their base at RAF Laarbruch. This scene is from memories of my overseas camp with the Air Training Corps in 1974. The wing tank on this side has been converted into a powerful flash used in conjunction with the centre-line Recce pod to glean tactical photography, essential in any modern military situation.
