LIVER BIRD
(pron: L-eye-vir)
Vickers Vanguard Airliner
|
Depicting a Vickers Vanguard airliner at Liverpool (Speke) Airport (UK) in the late sixties, "Liver Bird" is a scene that many a British Holidaymaker has either come home to or departed from. The summer sun of the Spanish Islands are a far cry from the typical British downpours of rain. The Vanguard was never a regular at Liverpool, but chartered aircraft associated with holidays and diverted traffic from nearby Manchester did occur.
This painting is available for purchase at the Guild of Aviation Artists exhibition - London 17 - 27 July 2001
